Initiator, also known as free radical initiator, refers to a class of compounds that are easily decomposed into free radicals (i.e. primary free radicals) by heat, which can be used to trigger free radical polymerization and co-polymerization of alkenes and diene monomers, and can also be used for cross-linking curing of unsaturated polyester and polymer cross-linking reaction.
(1) acyl peroxides (benzoyl peroxide, lauryl peroxide).
(2) hydroperoxides (isopropylbenzene hydrogen peroxide, tert-butyl hydrogen peroxide).
(3) dialkyl peroxides (ditert-butyl peroxide, diisopropylbenzene peroxide).
(4) ester peroxides (tert-butyl benzoate peroxide, tert-butyl peroxide).
(5) ketone peroxides (methyl ethyl ketone peroxide, cyclohexanone peroxide).
(6) dicarbonate peroxides (diisopropyl peroxide dicarbonate, dicyclohexyl peroxide dicarbonate).
